Christian Renewal - Chaplains

This website is designed for those who recognize the need to deal with life's past issues which are now interfering with living abundantly in today.  Resources and Lessons are recommendations and not meant to take the place of the local church, pastoral or clinical counseling.  The lessons are adapted from chaplains' teachings at a behavioral health facility in which Christian Renewal is an option for clients to choose while inpatient.

Chaplain Don Smith, Jr. -  serves as Lead Chaplain at Brookhaven. He is licensed and ordained through the Southern Baptist Convention and has been on staff at various churches since 1982 in various capacities from Student Minister, Worship Minister to Senior Pastor.  Chaplain Don has a deep compassion for all people and is embracing the time he has now to serve inpatient clients. 

Chaplain Bernard Hubbard - served as the Lead Chaplain at Brookhaven Hospital for 8 years.   His passion and life calling is to help people come to Christ and grow in Him. He obtained a Bachelors in Marketing and Management in 1986. Rev. Hubbard is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center.  He is ordained in the United Holy Church of America.  Chaplain Hubbard's lessons and teachings are empowering and uplifting as he preaches and lives out that people are new creations in Christ.  Most of the lessons are from Rev. Hubbard's teachings. 

Chaplain Leslie Patterson -  has been an Assistant Chaplain at Brookhaven since December, 2010. She has been an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God for 7 years and now has transferred her credentials to International Ministerial Fellowship. Chaplain Patterson is also a student at Oral Roberts University.  Her passion is to bring people who are lost and hurting to Jesus Christ, the Savior and healer. She desires to see people win.  

Dr. Alfray Thomas Jr. - has served as an Assistant Chaplain at Brookhaven for the past several years.  Dr. Thomas received his doctorate at Howard University School of Divinity.  He is a veteran of the US Navy.  He is ordained through From the Heart Church Ministries Worldwide, Inc.  Dr. Thomas recently left the pastorate after 13 years of service to serve full time in the office of Chaplaincy.  Besides Brookhaven, Dr. Thomas serves as a chaplain as the VA Medical Center in Muskogee, OK.  The heartbeat of the message God has given him to share is to 'Use what you have.' Matthew 14:13-21

Dr. Chisoo Choi - graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center and received ordination from Rhema Bible Church in Broken Arrow, OK.  He has served in the chaplaincy department for more than 15 years especially by leading praise and worship.  Dr. Choi is a physician who believes in treating the whole person, i.e. Body, Mind and Spirit. 

Chaplain Katrina Hubbard - has served as a Chaplain for 3 years.  She has a Bachelors in Family and Consumer Science and a graduate of Rhema Institute of Biblical Studies.  Chaplain Hubbard is ordained through RHEMA Ministerial Association International.  Her calling lies in motivating, encouraging, and inspiring people through the Word of God.  Her passion is carrying this to the incarcerated.  

Chaplain Nancy Brown - came to Tulsa from Michigan in 1972 to attend Oral Roberts University.  She is ordained in the Episcopal Church and serves Good Shepherd Episcopal in Sapulpa.  Chaplain Brown completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Hillcrest Medical Center, Tulsa.  She has been a  chaplain at Brookhaven since April 2013 and is a former board member for NAMI-Tulsa. 

Chaplain Tom Shaw - has served as a Chaplain for 5 years.  He has a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Seminary. Chaplain Shaw is ordained through the Southern Baptist Convention. He has been a pastor for over 40 years and brings a wealth of experience and wisdom to the teachings he presents.

Chaplain Betty-Jo Anderson - has been a Chaplain at Brookhaven since 2000.  She has a Bachelors in Cross Cultural Ministries and a Master in Educational Leadership. Chaplain Anderson is ordained with the Assemblies of God.  Her desire is for individuals to journey in spiritual and emotional healing so they may be rooted in a loving relationship with the God who created them. (Serves as administrator on this website.)
